Ziwo Lama is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Linguistics at the University of Texas at Arlington. He received a B.A. in Languages and Literature from the Southwest University of Nationalities in Chengdu, China. After that, he earned an M.A. in Sino-Tibetan Linguistics at the Central University of Nationalities in Beijing and another M.A. in Linguistics at UTA. He has worked at the Chinese Academy of Social Science in Beijing and is currently teaching at Texas Christian University and Brookhaven College. He is interested in Chinese civilizations and cultures, historical linguistics, phonology, and language acquisition. His research focuses on Sino-Tibetan linguistics, especially the Lolo-Burmese languages spoken in southwest China and neighboring countries.
