{Study Abroad}
The French division of the Department of Modern Languages & Literatures offers students the opportunity to participate in study abroad in France. There are two programs organized by the TCU Department of Modern Languages & Literatures and led by department faculty. The programs travel to the cities of Arles or Angers, alternating each year. In both programs, students spend approximately one week in Paris where they have time to explore the City of Lights and to learn about the history of the great capital. Numerous excursions and activities complement their stay in Paris. The program then continues in either Angers, located in the beautiful Loire Valley, or Arles in the equally lovely region of Provence in southern France. The program combines language study with the study of the traditions, history, and specialties of each region. TCU students are placed with host families, giving them the opportunity to further develop their knowledge of everyday French and developing their speaking skills. French majors and minors are strongly encouraged to participate in a study abroad program in a francophone setting during the course of their studies at TCU. The department-sponsored programs grant six hours of intermediate-level French credit and offer students the opportunity to study abroad during the summer. |
