German Studies Major

 

BA in Modern Language Studies
with concentration in GERMAN


Beginning Fall 2007, the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures will offer students the opportunity to get a B.A. degree with an emphasis in German Studies. Taking advantage of TCU’s innovative new core curriculum, the new Modern Language Studies major will combine rigorous work in the German language, emphasizing all skills, with related courses in other departments. The result is an interdisciplinary major especially well suited to prepare students for employment in the global marketplace.

Core Coursework in the Department of Modern Languages includes the following topics:

  • German Grammar
  • German Composition and Conversation
  • The German Political System
  • German Cities and Geography
  • Intro to German Literature
  • Modern German History
  • Berlin in Film
  • Study Abroad in Cologne and Berlin
