We have two opportunities for you to go abroad: the Exchange Program and the Summer Study Abroad

TCU / Japan University Exchange Program

 

Eligibility Requirement:

More than two semesters of Japanese language study at TCU, or approval by the Japanese instructor

Kawai Gaidai University (Osaka)

Aoyama Gakuin University (Tokyo)

 

Exchange Program Dates

One semester or one full academic year

 

Exchange Program Summary

 

The TCU University Exchange Program enables TCU students to attend one of those universities for an academic year and earn resident credit.

 

Students pay tuition/fees and room/board (Kansai Gaidai only) at TCU.

 

Students live with families (Kansai Gaidai only) or in dormitories and participate fully in the life of the Japanese campus, including student club activities.

 

Participating students can enjoy several periods of travel in Japan during holiday periods and after the completion of the program.

 

Summer Program: Horned Frogs in Japan!!!

A TCU summer class moves to Japan for an exciting three-week seminar!

 

TCU in Japan: "Japanese Culture and Civilization"

 

Study Sites:

Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara, Hiroshima and other exciting cities

 

Credit:

3 - 6 academic credits

JAPN 30113 - Japanese Culture and Civilization

JAPN 30123 - Japanese for Daily Use

 

These courses cover the following aspects of Japan and its people:

  • An introduction to today's Japan
  • Looking back through Japan's history Looking inside Japanese society
  • Looking ahead to Japan's future
  • Seminar enrichment activities will include visits to numerous sites of historical, architectural, business, religious and cultural importance.
    AND
    Each student will have a Japanese conversational partner from our exchange university in Tokyo
