    The Greater Dallas Chamber will welcome The Honorable Dr. Otmar Kolber, HM Consul-General of Austria
    Consulate-General Texas, and Mr. Heinz Seitinger of the Austrian Business Agency to our Coffee with the Consuls
    luncheon. Dr. Kolber is committed to strengthening the economic ties between Austria and the U.S. In 2005, Texas
    exported over $149 million worth of manufactured goods to Austria, an increase of over 176% from 2002.
    Mr. Heinz Seitinger of the Austrian Business Agency, a government-operated consulting firm, will discuss potential
    business development opportunities in Austria.

    Arlington-Bad Königshofen 55th Anniversary CelebrationThe Department of Modern Languages, the German Language Society, and Arlington Sister Cities invite you to the third annual exhibit honoring this long relationship between Arlington and Bad Königshofen, Germany. in the Language Acquisition Center, 3rd Floor Trimble Hall.

  • 23. Sept. AATG Poster Contest: Discover German All posters must be sent in digital format to Hildegard Lombardo, Trinity High School German teacher .

  • Oct. 2-8: National German Week
  • Oct. 2 Dr. Hans Redlef ARNOLD, Former ambassador and permanent member to the UN. Dr. Arnold will speak at Texas Christian University in the Kelly Center (7:30 pm). He is also former German ambassador to the Netherlands and Italy; also worked in the the US and French embassies.
  • 3. Oktober: Tag der deutschen Einheit
  • 3. October: Concert: Dr. San-ky Kim (TCU) sings Liszt, Rachmaninoff, and Robert Schumann (Dichterliebe, text by H. Heine) in TCU Pepsico Hall at 7:30.
  • 6. Oktober: German-American Day
  • October 9: Deadline for purchasing tickets to Mav's Night on December 1st. There are two different levels of tickets available with limited numbers of each. If you were not at the meeting on Saturday, you will need to get a copy of the ticket form from Beth Smith.

 

 

December

  • December 7-8, Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Weihnachtsfest: Celebration of the German Christmas TraditionChristmas crafts, songs, acitivities, movies, contests and fun German lessons. One day will be for grades K-6, and one will be for high school students. The registration information will be posted online. Contact Dr. Stafanie Borst for more information!
